Product Description

A week ago Zoey had a group of special friends, three boyfriends and a (kinda) clear conscience. Now she has none of the above. Luckily ice-queen Aphrodite is showing signs of melting and ex-roomie Stevie Rae isn't as dead as she'd thought. Though Stevie's now hanging out in tunnels with freaks - gross. If she can get them to listen, Zoey will need all her friends as events take a frightening turn at the House of Night school for vampyres. Shocking true intentions are about to come to light, loyalties will be tested and an ancient evil is about to rise again. Some days being special just doesn't seem all that ...- Not suitable for younger readers -

3.5 Stars3
Untamed is the fourth book in the House Of Night series, based on the idea of a vampire finishing school. I wasn't a huge fan of the first book, but the second and third were better, but something about this book isn't quite so good. Untamed seesZoey trying to make up for her mistakes in Chosen, trying to win back her friends and boyfriend(s?) as well as attempting to stop the evil, and increasingly crazy,Nefert.

Where friendships are concerned Zoey seems to be growing a lot and the development between her and Aphrodite in particular is good and interesting. This book sees things quieten down slightly where the boys areconcerned, with Erik and Heath both furious and hurt. We're starting to see Nefert's big picture now too, and it's not a pleasant one. Luckily for Zoey, she's got the power to try and stop her. Or at least keep her friends safe until she finds a way to do so.

I like this series, and there is enough of a decent plot for me to keep wanting to read, but the language at times is very child friendly and verging on ridiculous (the word 'bullpoopy' appears several times and each time it's used I want to smack the speaker), yet sex is mentioned much more freely. Untamed has the introduction of several things clearly setting up for the rest of the series. There are a few new characters here, most of them a fairly welcome addition, if a little bit strange (like the nuns for instance. Yes I'm serious). Most of the characters are still a little flat and shallow, but there is just enough for you to care about them. Not my favourite in the series so far, but it has some good moments.

I think my problem is the pace of the series. This book covers just a couple of days and is set exactly after the end of the pervious books. This is book 4 and only now are we meeting the real evil and seeing just how bad it's going to get. There is a lot of internal monolouge and it gets a bit repetitive, stopping the book from moving faster and making it drag a little, keeping it from being a 4 star read.

Zoey Redbird just can't seem to get it right.

After losing three potential boyfriends, alienating her closest vampyre buddies, and incurring the wrath of her mentor, Neferet, Zoey is on a downward spiral to Loserville. This young high priestess-in-training has a lot on her plate since transferring to the House of Night. Her abilities are creating quite a stir on campus and Zoey is not used to having all the attention on her.

Since her recent admittance into the vampyre school, things have changed, and not for the better.

Professors are being murdered, fledglings are disappearing, and Neferet has declared war on all humans. Stevie Rae, Zoey's best friend, has been transformed into another type of vampyre, and Aphrodite, Zoey's one-time nemesis, has regained her humanity, but continues to have life-altering visions. Zoey must use all of her abilities to unite those who wish to save the House of Night and its loyal inhabitants.

The Cast duo has created yet another excellent addition to the HOUSE OF NIGHT series. It is easy to see why these novels have become so popular; the stories are well-written, and the dialogue is at times extremely clever and sometimes biting. Young adult readers can relate to the mundane, everyday-ness of Zoey's activities (i.e.going to class, having arguments with friends, etc.), while losing themselves in the otherworldly aspects of the students' lives.

This is a definite must-read for fans of the House of Night!

gripping ....!!5
This just gets better and better...if you are one of those people who, like me, struggled to find a good follow up to stephenie meyers brilliant saga, then this is certainly going to help you break free of twighlight's grip! Obviusly i will not give too much info on the storie itself as i know it would only ruin the whole experience, but i will say this, zoey redbird will find out that, no matter how bad thing's get, they can always get worse...but she will also find she is a lot stronger than she thinks and that true friends will always have her back;)

Don't miss it...because this is only still book four...there's a lot more to come ..!!!
