How it was designed ... By placing a specially designed 8mm microphone inside a pregnant mothers uterus, directly next to the unborn infants ear. Insertion of the microphone moments before the mother went into labor enabled Dr. Eller to record the major intrauterine sounds that the baby had been hearing for the last four to five months prior to birth. The recorded sounds were then clinically tested on thousands of babies in hospital nurseries, and proved to be a natural audio baby pacifier. Based on the knowledge that the birth experience and transition from the peaceful, quiet existence inside the mothers body is a very traumatic time for the newborn, it has been proved that the recorded intrauterine sounds produce a calming effect on the newborn infant after birth. Each Slumber Bear Plus arrives with its own Silkie. Parents can bond with Baby by keeping Silkie close to their skin, transferring their scent to the blanket. Soothing Slumber Bear......
I purchased this bear when my baby was 7 weeks old as she could not settle to sleep easily. We use the sound unit strapped to the cot on its own as the bear is a bit cumbersome. We did not see a magic cure of instant calming as soon as the monitor went on,as I had hoped, but she did start to settle better within the first two weeks of using it. Now at 3 months old she starts to wake, the unit activates and she is comforted and can sleep for 30 mins longer, so it works wonders for us, I also find the sound soothing and it helps me sleep after a night time feed. I would definitely recommend this bear and will be purchasing as gifts for pregnant friends.

A present
This was a present for a friend, but they loved it & it worked! The soothing noises seemed to help their baby off to sleep in the early months. I would definately recommend this.

Very useful , I took this into hospital with me , for the birth of my daughter, she settled well with it, I have read that "white noise" is very effective for young babies up to 4 months, do have spare batterys , as it goes through them quite often.
