Synopsis
In 2006 grunge legends Pearl Jam undertook a short, five-date Italian tour, and brought filmmaker Danny Clinch along with them to document the proceedings. The resulting film showcases Pearl Jam's considerable prowess in the live arena and also offers a glimpse at the men behind the music, with candid backstage footage and interviews with the band members all included.

Perfectly captures a band at their peak
Pearl Jam have released more live products than most bands, so it would be easy to look at the tracklisting of this new live dvd(featuring less songs than their previous 2hours plus releases) and not see it as a worthy purchase. However "Immagine In Cornice" is a little different to previous offerings, and actually outshines the other dvds available. Documenting a 5 date tour of Italy, the songs are interspersed with some behind the scenes footage of the band taking in the sights so there's a more candid insight into the band's life on the road than has been shown previously. Then there's the sheer quality of the performances featured. Pearl Jam have always been a pretty special live band, managing to do the arena rock thing whilst still maintaining a fiercely human center and an independent spirit that endows their gigs with a transcendent quality rarely seen in modern rock, let alone a band who have been doing it for this long. With the tracklisting cherrypicked from 5 beautifully shot scenic gigs in front of rapturously loud audiences who turn every song into a glorious singalong, this shows a great live band at the absolute peak of their powers, and captures the atmosphere of a Pearl Jam gig better than any of the many alternatives.

BEST PEARL JAM DVD TO DATE!
If you are, like me, a huge Pear Jam fan, then this DVD is a must have. It's simply heaven for those that worship Eddie :)

I saw them live at Reading, and since then have been craving the energy of their live performances, and while there have been some great releases, this is the first one where you get enough of the "behind the scenes" footage to feel satisfied.

It is amazing how these guys have held onto their values and they are without a doubt the best band in the world.

P.S. this DVD is worth getting just for the acoustic version of "Lurkin" on the streets of Italy.

How long have Pearl Jam been playing? a long time thats for sure, and the performance of ALIVE on this dvd shows a band that creates a passion both amongst the band and with the audience that is surely unique. They have no fancy thrills, just pure energy. This is what music is about, and this dvd capture the spirit of Pearl Jam superbly. Maybe it will become one of the best music dvd's ever. the quality of a band is always proven by their live appearances and Pearl Jam show in this DVD that there are few bands who can equal their passion and energy.
