Amazon.co.uk Review
Lipstick Jungle is, if you’ve not met it before, a show about three women living their lives in the heart of Manhattan. Between them, they have to juggle their careers, families, romances and fashions, all the while generating a fair few chuckles a long the way.

Sound familiar? Unsurprisingly, Lipstick Jungle was firmly targeted at those looking to fill the void that Sex and the City left in their lives, but that does manage to undersell it slightly. Based on the book by Candace Bushnell, the show’s second season is both confident and entertaining, and deserves analysis in its own right, rather than straight comparison to its higher-profile rival.

It does have a few problems, though. Brooke Shields as movie executive Wendy struggles in the role, and that puts a greater workload on the back of Lindsay Price’s Victory and Kim Raver’s Nico. Furthermore, it’s a little inconsistent, and doesn’t quite (despite its best efforts) manage to step out of Sex and the City’s shadow. But those quibbles aside, Lipstick Jungle is still a very entertaining and under-appreciated show, and it’s hard not to get value for money out of this box set.

Sadly, this is the last season of Lipstick Jungle, though, given that the decision was made to axe it. It’s not the first show that’s deserved a better fate at the hand of television commissioners, and it won’t be the last. But it is a cut above what its fate may lead you to believe. Recommended. --Jon Foster

DVD Description
Based on the best-selling book by Candace Bushnell, author of Sex and the City, this fun and sexy series follows the lives of three ambitious women in Manhattan: Wendy (Brooke Shields, Suddenly Susan), a successful movie executive who struggles with juggling her career and family; Victory (Lindsay Price, Beverly Hills 90210), a fashion designer with big hopes for her professional and love life; and Nico (Kim Raver, Third Watch), a no-nonsense magazine editor. Though their lives in the big city may have their ups and downs, they always manage to keep their good humour and, more importantly, they always have each other. Like Sex and the City, the main attraction here is the show's modern take on romance, glamourous portrayal of urban life, and daring humour.

The second series includes guest stars Rosie Perez, Mary Tyler Moore, Carlos Ponce, Shannon McGinnis, Rosanna Arquette and sports stars including James Blake.

Synopsis
In the spirit of SEX AND THE CITY, LIPSTICK JUNGLE follows a trio of Manhattanites as they attempt to balance careers, relationships, and a passion for fashion. Brooke Shields stars as Wendy, a movie producer struggling to raise a family while climbing the corporate ladder. Luckily, she always has her best friends--up-and-coming designer Victory (Lindsay Price) and magazine editor Nico (Kim Raver)--by her side to lend a hand. Shot through with high-end labels and a smart, snarky sense of humour, LIPSTICK JUNGLE’s sophomore season finds the women dealing with everything from infidelity to out-of-control clients.

Completely agree:)4
I was hooked on that show from the first episode - the characters are touching portraits of women confronted with situations, that, as a working woman, I am confronting to every single day :)

Only more glamorous and sexy than reality, obviously, and that is the only negative comment I could make (too much glitter, money...etc.)

However, the portraits of these three women, their friendship, their relationships, their troubles, is deeply touching and at the same time, will inevitably make you smile.

I would definitely regret the lack of a third season!!!

Sad But True - No More After Season 25
If you loved Sex and the City, you will love Lipstick Jungle. A slighty more grown up version of the tales of Carrie Bradshaw and Co, the friendships between the four main characters are strong and touching, and as always, it's worth seeing just for the handbags. It is sad that there will be no third season - I am sure there are lots of disappointed fans out there like me. Still, enjoy this season in all its glory. All the leads give great performances but Kim Raver really shines. I hope to see her on screen again soon.

Keep it going!5
I love this show and watched the whole box set in a couple of days, which i need to stop doing because now i am left without and the witty humor and emotional turmoil you get catchup with when watching the lives of the characters in the show. It's well acted as always with an excellent cast plus a couple of new characters. (Actors from Las Vegas make an appearance in this season).
I am not going to spoil the plots for any of the episodes but if you want to know what happens between Victory and Joe, or if Nico was the only one having an affair then you'll need to watch it. If you haven't seen the first season take a look at that first then you'll be fully aware of all the ups and downs in the characters lives. It's just a shame that season 3 is the last one.
