Editorial Reviews
From the Publisher
A superb debut thriller about native title land rights and the Tjulpan Aboriginal community of Western Australia. It combines a traditional pioneering story with contemporary issues (land rights, child abuse, mining). As many will know, very little Australian literature is written about the mining industry, despite the industry's importance to the country's economy - Dr Fleet's book, therefore, is an interesting addition. The book is also of interest because she is a white writer reflecting the ambiguity of Aboriginal-white contact historically and in a contemporary setting.
From the Author
SACRED SITE will appeal to those who love Australia, enjoy travel (eco-travel definitely!), learning about other cultures, indigenous issues, Aboriginal history, mining/resource viewpoints and . . . strong women all wrapped up in a thriller in a brilliant setting. If any residents of Western Australia are reading this then you will love my book . . .
