Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant wrote and directed the award-winning BBC comedy series, THE OFFICE. They met at radio station Xfm in 1997 where they are now presenting together again.

Not just an hilarious collection of scripts: a lesson in TV writing!
Extras is another Gervais and Merchant masterpiece. Not only are the DVDs essential, but also these detailed, amazingly crafted scripts. Extras is a lesson in structure, dialog, and that delicate balance between big laughs and melancholic poetry. Every word, every silence, every movement is carefully but affectiously planned in order to work.
No wonder Ricky Gervais says he wants to write a more dramatic TV series in the future. Between the comedy, where the surpringly touching sadness lies, Extras shows that him and Stephen Merchant can be the authors of the next Sopranos... Please, HBO and BBC - don't let them go, and give these guys the money and the freedom to create another TV legend!
