Synopsis
After starring in the 1950s classic PERRY MASON, legendary actor Raymond Burr created another indelible character with the 1960s television drama IRONSIDE. Paralyzed by a sniper's bullet and confined to a wheelchair, San Francisco police detective Robert Ironside (Burr) continued to bring down bad guys with the help of a tricked-out van and a crack team of assistants that included rookie sergeant Ed Brown (Don Galloway), beautiful policewoman Eve Whitfield (Barbara Anderson), and reformed criminal Mark Sanger (Don Mitchell). Smart and suspenseful, the series distinguished itself with its disabled protagonist, a multicultural cast, an indelible theme song by composer Quincy Jones, and time-capsule plotlines that tackled '60s topics like hippies and civil rights. This collection presents all 28 episodes of the nostalgic series' debut season, which includes guest appearances by Jack Lord, Susan Saint James, David Carradine, and Gary Collins.

I want the whole 8 season DVD
Many old TV series date quickly. But Ironside is exception. I bought this last year and enjoy watshing so many times since. It is fun to see how the chief, ironside solve the cases. But there is more to it. I like to see the warm relationship of those 4 good people, Ironside, Mark, Eve and Ed.They often made me stop and think. And I like that. I am so looking forward to the Volume 2 released in UK and the rest of the whole series soon. By the way, I could not wait so that I bought the region free whole 8 season "Ironside". It was a mistake. The picture and sound were both bad. I do not recommend it.

Dont miss Raymond Burr at his best!
It is great we see more and more of the great series out of the 60s and 70s arriving on DVD. Raymond Burr is the star in both Perry Mason and Ironside.

The Police Commissioner Ironside gets shot and winds up in a wheel chair. He is asked to run a special investigation team out side of the normal police work. His results are great and so is this series 1, a real NEED TO BUY !

60's tv at its best
Brilliant tv series from the 60's. Although some parts [like clothes] are dated the plots are still relevent today. looking forward to the release of series 2.
