Customer Reviews

Far and away the best picture quality yet5
This Blu ray is amazing. Pin sharp picture, full HD 1080P. At just over an hour and a half, the film never lags, and the narration is superb by Patrick Stewart.

Just a note to those who already own the Blu Ray of 'Planet Earth' that the BBC released last year - around 10-20% of the footage appears to be either the same or similar, especially in the Polar Bear and Cubs segment.

There is enough new material to warrant a purchase, however. Watching through my PS3 console on a 42" Toshiba HD tv and the picture is pretty much pin-sharp in every scene, unlike the Planet Earth release that was a mixture of standard and high definition and often looked it!

BRILLIANT!5
This is by far the best quality dvd we have seen yet. We've seen movies on blu-ray, but this just blows them out of the water. The picture quality is absolutely amazing! If you are investing in a blu-ray player, we would highly recommend this as a first blu-ray dvd purchase!

Excellent picture quality5
This is my first Blu-Ray disc, which I specifically bought to be impressed by the picture quality. And I am impressed. There are two, three scenes where I see compression artefacts, but I can live with that.

If you like documentaries on nature and you want to see how good HD can look, you will not make a mistake buying this disc.
