Customer Reviews
Fairly good performance
This item is an absolute nightmare to put together, even with two people doing the task. The metal rods that hold the top and bottom rims onto the main body need to be tight, but it takes an awful lot of manipulation to manage to get the hooks on the rods to clip into place as a result. The cups in which the strawberry plants are planted are not a perfect fit but are easy enough to insert into position, although they fall out easily until soil has been inserted and planting is completed.
The unit feels reasonably robust once it has been put together and I had a very good yield of strawberries even in my first season of growing from bare rooted plants, which were not planted until June. I did use miracle grow compost, which might have helped, but I was impressed with what I achieved with absolutely no experience beforehand.
Once filled with soil, the item becomes very heavy and difficult to move, so it needs to be placed where the strawberries are going to be grown straight away. It is possible to turn the planter so that the plants all have exposure to sunlight, but anything more would be very difficult as I do not think that the planter design is robust enough to cope with a wholesale move.
I have given this three stars solely because of the difficulty of initial construction; it really was hard to do even with assistance.
fantastic
Possibly one of the better things I have bought items for the price.Fairly easy to assemble and looks great. Well done
