From pot to wok, all you need for an oriental garden and your own supply of stir fry vegetables. This stir-fry growing kit comes with a handsome wooden planter containing compost and a sachet of mixed stir-fry seeds for indoor cultivation. Oriental salad mix contains the following varieties: Mibuna, Mizuna, Green Mustard, Red Mustard, Pak Choi White and Tatsoi. Growing tip: there are enough seeds in the sachet for multiple sowings so don't sow all of the seeds straight away. If the seeds are sown too thickly this can hamper germination. Ideal for growing on a windowsill (base dimensions 34cm x 13cm). The herb and stir fry Kit can be ready to harvest within 28 days (approximately) in peak growing conditions.

    I was initially slightly concerned when this planter arrived because my windows face to the East and West and I was worried there would be insufficient sunlight for the plants to grow. I needn't have worried - if anything it's probably just as well I don't have direct sunlight - otherwise I'd now be living in Wild Kingdom.

    The first signs of growth popped through the soil before the first week had run and, now a month into the growth, my Kitchen window sill has what looks like a very healthy stir-fry crop blossoming up and out of the box.

    I bought this as a present. It was delivered very speedily, and the recipient was thrilled. Seeds started sprouting within days. Was tempted to buy one for myself but I thought that would be a bit over-the-top as I have half an acre of garden. From what recipient says, if you've only got a window sill/box, go for it!
