One of the Best FPS
Activision have managed to do a decent job on this one. The PSP games will always suffer due to the lack of a second analogue stick, but they got around it by adding an auto aim feature to help.
The sound is top notch with the gunfire and explosions, the enemy AI is intelligent enough to run for cover when you shoot, the graphics are slick and smooth unlike the sluggish Brothers in Arms, and the enemies appear thick and fast just as fans of this series will know.
The gameplay varies from battlefield assaults, to being a flying fortress gunner, to calling artillery strikes on tanks. All familiar features of the COD series.
The bad points are that the auto aim feature doesn't always work as intelligently as we'd like and tracks the wrong target due to there being so many. It suffers from somehting PSP gamers will be familiar with, the singleplayer campaign is too damn short. Its not a major problem though as using the higher difficulty setting will provide extended life, if a little repetitive at times.
Its a great little game, worth buying if you want a bit of intense battlefield action on those long journeys, and blows the other WW2 FPS games out of the water. It also feels and plays like the COD series should.
I can't say how well the multiplayer is as I can't find anyone local who has it, but if its anything like the single player, it'll be a laugh. An FPS definitely worth buying.
Great game - must for COD fans...
great game! certainly for the ultimate cod experience (or fps in general) pc/mac is the way to go. Considering this is on the psp - its EXCELLENT! control system does let it down - takes a while to get used to and can be frustrating at first cos its so slow to move ur character around - like a tanker ship. After awhile, u get used to the controls, and plays quite smoothly, the only time u notcie the controls is if u have a nazi behind u battering his gun butt on ya head and try to turn down quickly - lukily this is rare.
nice feature is bonus material - unlock 'play with unlimited ammo, grenades' etc...and detailed info on the guns used in the game and the artilliery etc plus movies of ww2 game modes are quite evenly balanced - veteran (the hardest level) is not impossible (on that now)
graphics 9/10
sound 10/10
gameplay 9/10
overall 9/10 and must for any cod fans - u cant beat taking out a few nazis, especially on the train etc...
roads to my PSP
The game is great and worth a buy, ok now read further if your still looking for more details about the game.
The movement is a bit awkward becuase of the set up, better then i thought it would be but it does make it harder to make accurate shots at the enemy so you really just point and fire hoping to hit something.
Other then that i have no fault with the game, it does take a bit of getting used to with the controls, so be patient with it.
The graphics are very good for a handheld game and the sound and explosions are just brilliant you will find yourself ducking and diving around whilst playing this game it just pulls you in by the short and curllies.
