Bordering on genius
To begin lets clear something up, if you are like me and dont have access to XBox live maybe you have a dongle like I do and can find to way of doing this or maybe you refuse to pay for the priv of online play when you have already spent a couple of hundred on the Xbox and game. Yes you can purchase them on Xbox live but if you dont have it then here we find ourselves. Also YES you could wait for the Game of the Year edition which features all 5 add ons but who can be bothered waiting for that. Its not like your paying 30 - 40 quid for these add ons is it, 12 quid maybe 15! Better still if your mate doesnt have XBox live either and wants the same expansions but cant afford the points to buy them and you are already buying them all you have to do is update your hard drive with it and pass it on.
Anyway this expansion is a bit more impressive than the first one, Broken Steel lets you carry on (following Ron Pearlman's speech which you still get) two weeks later you awake in the Brotherhood and have been in a coma, the mission to end the remnants of The Enclave starts here. Thankfully the fight is more epic and the technology is very handy to have especially when you find your Plasma Rifles arent up to much in the other expansion of Point Lookout...the bad guys wont die easy. When you have completed Broken Steel the game doesnt end so you are free to carry on BUT you cannot begin Broken Steel until you have completed the main quest but im sure you know that already.
Point Lookout is one freaky place and the map is massive it will keep you busy for a few hours just finding all the locations and killing whatever gets in your way and they will. This is a thrilling, creepy and innovative expansion.
The expansion as a whole is much less brief as The Pitt and Operation Anchorage now all we need is Mothership Zeta.
HARD DRIVE NEEDED
This is probably a good title. If however you have fallout 3 but an xbox 360 arcade you are unable to play the game since a hard drive is needed. This is not mentioned anywhere so just to let people know
Best Of the add-ons
Of all the Fallout 3 Add-on packs, these are the two best. It is great that they have paired them together as these are certainly the two I would recommend. If you loved Fallout 3 and are hungry for some more this is definitely the best value for money.Broken Steel continues the main plot very well and stops the game ending after the end sequence and Point Lookout allows you to explore an all new area with fantastic new characters and situations and a formidable challenge in new enemies. Definitely worth the cash.
