Total Utter Rubbish1
This game is seriously poor. Graphics are a disgrace to the ps3, with ground and building's textures border lining between ps1 and ps2 standards. Most of the trees are 2d and explosions are sorrowfully bad. Gameplay is horrendous - there are about 5/6 buttons used in the game, and the majority of them are awkward. Locking on to enemies is absolutely painful to watch as your camera angle is changed in a way so that you can't see in front of you, only behind, to your flank or wherever your enemy is. Planes are a bore to fly and there are no moments in the game where you feel enthralled by an intense dogfight. The online multilayer is dull and depressing to take part in due to the lack of participants and overall poorly designed lobby. No disrespect to the other reviewer, but I don't think resistance set the bar too high, i just think that BA2 is plain terrible. This game fails to bring any of the intensive and enjoyable online gameplay elements from other games on the market. Whoever was on the development team for this game should be ashamed that they were involved in designing such an impotent game that only puts the player through anguish as they have to endure such immense stress of even witnessing a small percentage of the inadequate and inferior experience that this game offers.
1/5. A disgrace, and an infuriatingly pitiful excuse for a next gen game!

A game that needed a bit of defending from its critics........4
I have always been surprised by the speed with which certain gamers heap criticism on games. It's a cut-throat business, but sometimes when I read reviews, I get the impression that 9 out of 10 games must be absolute rubbish. Obviously this is not the case......

Moving onto the game itself.
I thought the graphics for a game of this nature were quite good. The planes are depicted in detail and the colourations and designs are impressive. I will admit that ground troops and vehicles sometimes lack detail, but this is not really that important when playing the game.
There are not that many flying games on the PS3, so you could argue that there is not much to compare it to. But having said that, the missions are varied and reasonably well thought out. There are bombing missions, air-to-air missions, torpedoing destroyer missions, flying in very small corridors/passages etc etc. I can't fault it for variety.
And with this variety comes fun. I've loved playing the game. From selecting the plane I want for the mission, to changing its colours and designs, to the actualy flying itself..... I was hooked.
I recomend this to those that want to have fun behind the controls of a Spitfire of Messerschmit. You won't regret it. And if you're not sure, you could always rent it for the night.
A huge plus, is that this game is co-op, so if you want to play split screen with a mate, you can. That's even more fun than it sounds....

GOOD GAME AND BEST USE OF SIXAXIS SO FAR!4
BA2 is a good flying game, full of action, combat and missions that test your flying skills. It is not a game for hardcore pilots and simulator fans as what you do is more or less just take off and shoot'em up, but a game for those who fancy flying and enjoys shooting down Stuka's and watch them go down in flames! Also you have your wingmen and they could be a real life saver hence learn how to use them. This feature is pretty interesting as makes you feel like a real squadron captain and brings a whole new/different experience compared to an average simulator game in the market. However, the best bit is the use of SIXAXIS which brings the whole fun while getting rid of the burden of using PS3 controller's micro joysticks for flying a plane! It works very well, and the plane reacts very quickly to your moves when you have the feature on, hence, after a few minutes of getting used to it you start getting the most out of the game as well as probably SIXAXIS feature of the PS3 controller. Online multiplayer is a bit simple than what you would expect (Resistance FOM put the bar too high) but it is definitely fun flying against your mates while being able to talk to each other. I was concerned based on previous reviews, however, when played the demo and discovered the SIXAXIS playability, I went for it and am satisfied. If you are a flying guru note that BA2 is not a first class simulator hence you might find it pretty simple, however, if you like flying and want to have a decent simulator game for your PS3, go for it, you won't be disappointed
