Customer Reviews
Don't bother with this one
I don't know who these people are who wrote the reviews above (or are they below?) - friends of the author I would imagine. The book has SOME interesting points in it and does have some things that make you go "are yes that's a good point" BUT it is padded out with the obvious, lots of "case studies" and other space filling techniques (e.g. a few blank or almost blank pages here and there AND a series of very short letters describing how to negotiate the buying price of a property that take up three and half side of the book and could be summarised in about three-quarters of a side).
In my opinion it's a very expensive book for the quantity and quality of material it contains.
Look elsewhere for property advice
I wish I hadn't bothered. The book is full of 'useful' tips like don't paint rooms deep purple.
Anyone with a modicum of common sense could write this book.
Essential reading
Unlike similar books written by US authors on the subject of property investment, this book deals with the subject in the UK. Some points made by the author I have not seen anywhere else and could really make the difference between success and failure. It doesn't bang the drum like other motivational investment books but deals with the essentials in a very business like manner. It covers almost every aspect of property investment, but not in tremendous depth, which is pity. This book will give you enough information to get started, but keep your feet on the ground.
To sum up, if you're about to begin investing in property in the UK, you must read this book. I will be looking for more by this author. Definitely worth buying.
