The new HeartScan ECG monitor senses the heart's waveform and indicates potential ECG abnormalities. With the HeartScan, a recording of about 30 seconds can be made when symptoms occur either at home or away. The user friendly, ergonomic design allows the user to take a reading instantly and discreetly. This screening and monitoring device means that transient cardiac events can be recorded as and when they happen, helpful in determining cardiac etiology of symptomatic events, plus monitoring of heart conditions for ambulatory patients exposed to stroke, myocardial infarction and sudden death risk. The HeartScan is not a diagnosis tool and should only be used by patients following consultation with a medical professional.

Pleased
I was very hesitant about purchasing this item after reading the only review posted but I had no problems in using the machine. Followed the booklet and obtained a reading first try. I have rated only four star simply because when I came to post the review the price had been so dramatically reduced within the week since I purchased.

1er achat à l'étranger
Je poste cette "review" au cas où un acheteur français se poserait des questions.
C'était mon premier achat à l'étranger. J'avais été étonné des différences de prix du matériel OMRON entre la France et la Grande-Bretagne pour des modèles identiques, et je voulais me faire une idée. Pas de modèle vendu sans logiciel en France dans le circuit habituel.
Paiement en euro possible. Pas de pénalité supplémentaire par ma banque. Livré rapidement, sans casse.
Concernant cet appareil : attention aux dimensions (je le croyais plus gros) ; enregistrement bref d'une seule dérivation ; les électrodes sont latérales (côté bleu pour la totalité de l'index et côté inox sur le thorax), et non sous l'appareil.
Donc, la coopération active du patient qui maintient l'appareil contre son thorax avec l'index est nécessaire. Sans doute difficile à utiliser dans un but diagnostique en cas de perte de connaissance ou de mort apparente.
On peut concevoir un intérêt à ce gadget si acheté nu en Grande Bretagne ; le prix du même article (avec logiciel) acheté en France me paraît exhorbitant au vu des capacités et des autres matériels disponibles qui en font beaucoup plus.

disappointing in the extreme
I have tried several times to get this to work but can't, Neither the chest or finger sensor work with any of my family. It's going back to Omron.
