Six months of brutal fighting followed, until the Zulu kingdom was broken up, its king imprisoned and the whole structure of the Zulu state destroyed. Years of intemecine strife followed, until the British finally annexed Zululand as a colonial possession.

About the Author
Ian Knight was born in 1956. He was a freelance writer on military history for ten years before studying Afro-Caribbean History at the University of Kent. He has written widely on Zulu history and travelled extensively in Zululand. Ian was the editor of the Victorian Military Society journal for many years, and has written several books for Osprey.

Ian Knight is a well known author of Zulu histories and this one is, as ever, very good. Well illustrated and with good, clear maps, you are guided through the campaign by an expert. Easy reading - well worth adding to your library.
