Customer Reviews

You looked at the rest, this is the best!4
The first thing I have to praise is Amazon itself. The service was perfect as always. It arrived less than 24 hours after I ordered it.

Now onto the remote itself. It's actually a lot bigger than the picture suggests, a good guide would be about 3/4 of the size of a normal adult hand. This is a good thing as the buttons are big and easy to use.
It comes with a very sturdy strap that will go around any arm or wrist and an extension part in case you want to wrap it around anything bigger.
A nice touch is that it also comes with a small karabiner that means you can clip it anywhere you like.
The strap and the remote are not a single unit, the remote attaches to the strap by heavy duty Velcro so you can take it off and stick it to other Velcro things. The battery compartment also has a light that shows when a successful transmission has been made, so you know its working.

The only change I would make to the remote is that it is very bendy as it is mostly just fabric. A tougher none or less flexible back to it would have been a bonus as it would make the button presses easier.

The receiver is a bit on the big side for my taste and the length of cable looks a bit redundant, making the Ipod a bit on the big side in your pocket, but since you leave it there all day it's no major issue.

Belkin only say that it works with most Ipods. The Itouch is not mentioned, however, I can confirm that it WILL work with a Gen 1 Itouch.
I can't say about the Gen 2 though.

Over all, a very well designed and made bit of kit. Expensive compared to other remotes out there but if you snowboard or mountain bike like me than I would suggest going the extra mile for this.
I've had others not made for outdoor or cold weather use and they don't last. This will.

Ignore what belkin say about what it will work with, it will most likely work with all ipods with a dock connector.
Ignore all other, cheaper, remotes. They don't survive the cold, wet, muddy, snowy environments you might find yourself in.

This is a real case of I've tried the rest, now I've found the best.
I urge you to as well. Get this, get your tunes, get out there and enjoy the world.

Works with iPod Touch!5
I bought one of these for use with my 4Gen iPod, but I have also discovered that it works with an iPod touch (even though it doesn't include the touch in the list of supported iPods).

This product is usless if you taking skiing/ snowboarding1
I bought this product to take skiing with me. After testing it in normal sheltered conditions it worked really well but as soon as you take it up the mountain and on to the slopes it becomes incredibly temperamental and malfunctions constantly. Considering it is advertised for use on the mountain and even has a picture of the product in the snow displayed on the box it works about as well as strapping a wet kipper to my face and shouting at my ipod. Don't buy it just invest in a Burton Audex jacket because they are pretty sweet.
