"a fast-moving roller-coaster of a read" (Emma Lee-Potter DAILY EXPRESS )

"Barclay's enjoyably creepy tale...certainly keeps one turning the pages" (TIMES )

Alex Gordon, Peterborough Evening Telegraph
"This is the thriller equivalent of shooting down a sheet of ice clinging to a bobsleigh as it slews round tricky corners and hurtles to a climax."

Definately worth reading5
I won't write an essay like the ones below - this is the first book review i've ever done in my life. Normally I read Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Harlan Coben, Jonathan Kellerman type stuff and only picked up 'No Time for Goodbye' as it was on offer. I'd never heard of Linwood Barclay but just a few pages in I was already enjoying his style of writing. I totally 'got' the main character, found myself rooting for him and his family all the way through, was kept guessing until the very end about the twist and looked forward to my train journey home each night as i couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. So I say read it for yourself and see what you think - if you like twists and turns, appealing characters and a refreshing way of writing, you'll like this.

A definite page-turner4
I annoyed the rest of my family when reading this book - I really did struggle to put it down. I was totally absorbed. It wasn't the characters, but the plot. The characters are at times a bit 2D, cardboard, but the storyline races along at a cracking pace. You'll probably aim to complete it within 48 hours. Fail-safe gift, but only as thriller appertiser, not for those requiring in-depth discussion.

Excellent5
Having read quite a few very average books lately I am relieved to say that finally I found a good one! I was fed up of starting these mediocre books, reading 200 or so pages and not really caring what happened, so I was delighted to discover this one, where from the very beginning I was desperate to know what happened.
As for all the negative comments about the ending being a disappointment and far fetched, I don't agree at all. I thought the ending was good, the whole plot was excellent, although I did have an inkling about one of the "baddies", that is, the one revealed in the final twist. Apart from the thrilling climax, it was a great read throughout, with an intriguing mystery and plenty suspense. I loved it and would definitely try another of Linwood Barclay's novels.
