Customer Reviews

great for grammar5
OK, so learning French grammar isn't fun! This book however was ideal for me, because along with the grammar itself there are a lot of workbook exercises, which is the only way to really learn - by practicing. Would recommend for those who already have a little understanding of french grammar but want to refresh and practice.

Excellent- just buy it! 5
I bought this book as a 'refresher course' to re-acquaint myself with French after leaving school with nothing more than a GCSE in the subject nearly 15 years ago. It is extremely thorough, and will steadily take you up to a level much higher than GCSE, and even includes some vocabulary lists in the process. It is an excellent supplement to any beginner or intermediate French course, with plenty of exercises and examples for those who are self-teaching. So many language books are all gloss and no substance- but this isn't one of them. Overall, excellent value for money.

Plenty of excercises4
When I ordered this book I was looking for a general grammar book with plenty of excersices - and this book fits the bill, and yes, there are the answers in the back.
At first glance the book looks a little dissapointing, the grammatical explanations are succinct and to the point, and there's a lot of white space.
However, once I'd taken a good look at the book I realised that everything is in there, and it looks ideal to dip in and out of to refresh myself on the bits that slip between the cracks of my neurones!
The level appears to be slanted towards the beginner or intermediate learner rather than the intermediate / advanced learner.
