This is a detailed account of a regiment of volunteers and how its two battalions fared in the Great War. Researching an uncle who fought with the first battalion at Loos and on the Somme, and was wounded several times but survived the war, I found the book a perfect companion as well as an indication of the dangers and privations he faced.
