Wonderful Green Webcam5
I've been hunting around for a good webcam with a mic to use with Skype and iChat and that works with both Vista and OSX. I ended up buying this one on a friend's recommendation.

Immediately after unboxing, I managed to drop it on my desk! Luckily, it came out unscathed. I'm prone to dropping things but it has a very sturdy build, so I think we'll get on just fine!

The installation was fast and both OSX (Leopard on a MacPro) and Vista (on a laptop) recognised the webcam instantly.

I started a video chat in Skype and it worked straight off the bat - no problems at all. The quality of the video is excellent! Full points for ease of use!

The camera can detach from the base and plug straight into the laptop, which is great! The bendy neck means you can adjust the height of the camera, which makes it a lot more flexible than most of the webcams I've had in the past.

In short, a good, easy to use, no-hassle webcam! Just what I was looking for!

Dont do it!1
What a disappointment.

Before being even slightly tempted to buy this product, please read the reviews on the other colours/versions of this same webcam. You will see a recurring theme - it does not work. At all.

First of all, from a hardware point of view: the idea is great, nice big flexable neck so that you can put your webcam 'here you want'. Except you cant - the base is too small/light, and the thing just falls over! Also, the lense is manual focus, which is a pain.

But that doesnt even come close to the main problem - this product is the complete opposite of 'plug and play'. In fact, after many 'hardware malfunction' and 'device not recognised' messages in both windows vista and xp, followed by the manufacturers software from the original CD failing to recognise the device I actually did a clean install of both OS's. Still no luck.

Too much stress. Sending mine back.
