Review
"A well balanced and easily navigable mix of practicalities and points of interest make it suitable for any motorway user" - The Observer "An invaluable guide!" - The Daily Telegraph "Off the Motorway is an excellent book, one that I wonder how I lived without" - Jaguar Monthly "A best seller, is the book to buy" - BBC Radio Devon "An excellent and very informative publication" - A reader from Derbyshire

About the Author
Paul & Shirley Smith have been writing since 1986 when they edited a leading railway magazine. Since then they have researched and published a number of specialist titles. It was the curiosity aroused about a damaged bridge whilst driving along the M5 and the lack of information on the facilities and places of interest available at each junction that led them to write a book specifically about motorways. They have travelled over 15,000 miles in the process of researching the country's major motorways!

Customer Reviews

Disapointed - BUT MAYBE NOT...........1
I was very excited to get this book - one I have been promising myself for some time.
The book is very good for information - EXCEPT - the new version has decided to leave out opening times - NOW - MY LAST REVIEW WAS GIVING THIS BOOK A HARD TIME - I HAVE NOW ACTUALLY USED IT. IT IS USEFUL BUT I STILL STAND FIRM ON THE OPENEING TIMES - SURE 9-5 OR EVEN 10-6 YOU SHOULD BE OK - BUT OUTSIDE OF THOSE HOURS - LOW ON PETROL? STARVING HUNGRY? DON'T RISK GOING OFF THE MOTORWAY - STICK TO THE 24 HOUR STOPS.
