Product Description

In this authoritative book, Phil Whyman - paranormal investigator and member of Living TV's Most Haunted team - introduces the reader to the different forms of paranormal activity that can be encountered at a haunted site. He explains what ghosts are and the different forms they can take, orbs and light anomalies, and poltergeist phenomena. He then goes on to detail the equipment used in an investigation and to provide a guide to conducting one, taking into account such diverse issues as moon phases and approaching location owners. Phil's in-depth analysis includes information on aspects of paranormal investigation not usually found in books of this type, such as magnetic field interference, earth tremor and residual energy theory. The book also includes reports on investigations that Phil has undertaken as well as accounts from members of the public.

Customer Reviews

An excellent read for both beginners and experts in the paranormal!5
Written by Phil Whyman of "Most Haunted" and "Scream Team" fame, this guide to the paranormal is one of the better books on the subject I have read, and I've read quite a few!

Written in a conversational style that makes it very easy to read, it provides varied information such as the different classifications of ghosts, how to conduct your own investigation and what equipment you will need and goes on to explore Phil's own experiences in the field of paranormal investigation.

This book manages to present a very balanced view of the paranormal, neither dwelling too much on the basics or going too deeply into the mechanics of the paranormal, making it a great read for beginners and experts alike. It also avoids bias toward psychic or sceptical explanation, so has appeal to believers and non-believers alike.

With some great photography and compelling witness testimonies, this book is a must for anyone with an interest in all things ghostly.

Phil Whyman's Dead Haunted5
Excellent and well written book on the paranormal. Covers many aspects of the paranormal in an objective and balanced manner, with some great tips and advice on how to carry out your own investigations. Includes some fantastic accounts of actual investigations and some amazing photos. Informative and enjoyable at the same time. A definite must have for all those paranormal enthusiasts!

Dead Haunted4
In a genre swamped with half baked ideologies and touchy feely 'mumbo jumbo', Whyman delivers in DEAD HAUNTED the easy to read 'Dummies Guide' to the world of paranormal investigation we've all been waiting for.

Stepping away from the 'assumed knowledge'/jargon heavy trap that so many of his peers have fallen into; Whyman explains in detail the who, what, when, where, why and most importantly 'how' of paranormal investigation, managing to keep the information relevant and interesting to beginner and old hand alike.

Whyman's narrative clearly shows the depth of his knowledge and his passion for his subject matter, not to mention a delightfully quirky sense of humour that, I admit, came as something of a surprise.

Overall, a read worthy of shoving in the Christmas stocking with an EMF reader and a wind up torch!
