In this new series of books, to accompany the best-selling Ghost Tour of Great Britain DVDs, the full story of what happened to the team in each county they visited is revealed alongside the details of their supernatural encounters. Each book in the series will have a full introduction to the Ghost Tour, as well as a glossary of ghost-hunting terminology and explanations of Richard's methods of tracking down elusive spirits. This is followed by individual entries on the most fascinating haunted sites of the county, which give the history of each location, details of the spectres that appear there, and a full account of what happened when the team arrived to start filming...The books are sure to appeal to the countless fans of Richard Felix's Most Haunted show, and to all those that have already bought the Ghost Tour of Great Britain DVDs, as well as those with an interest in the more mysterious side of local history in the county.

64 Wasted Pages
This book is advertised as having 160 pages, however, pages 14 through 23 are wasted on `Richard's Theories About Ghosts.' Pages 24 through 36 are devoted to the author's description of useless gadgets which he alleges are `superb ghost-hunting aids,' apparently forgetting that ghosts are supernatural and cannot be measured by such equipment. Following these two cockamamie chapters, pages 36 through 64 consist of the author's asinine, contrived definitions of`ghostly terminology.' Anyone wishing to know the definition of a word can always consult a dictionary, but this fact, too, seems to have escaped Mr. Jones. Furthermore, he defines `orbs' as `globe-shaped lights of energy caught on film . . . ,' proving the author knows absolutely nothing about photography.
This leaves only enough space for a handful of already well-known ghost stories which, because of the author's use of short, choppy sentences, are difficult to read. Nevertheless, some of the photographs of the haunted locations are mildly interesting.
This is a hardcover book with slick pages, but I advise anyone interested in Yorkshire's ghosts to invest in one of the pamphlet-size books available. They are much more informative and better-written than THE GHOST TOUR OF GREAT BRITAIN AND YORKSHIRE.
Felix at large in Yorkshire
The book is well written and conveys a very real sense of the atmosphere of fear, dread and expectation at allegedly haunted locations. Its a launch pad for RF to do what he does so well, weave a tale around a structure of historical fact.
The Author carefully crafts a sense of location and milieu. Having visited all featured locations personally, he is thus able to capture the essence of a given place.
I am familiar with most northern locations and I know the old stories so well. Yet Richard Felix constantly suprises, by teasing out new and unexpected aspects of traditional accounts to present a charming, surprising and often chilling edge to regional folklore.
The only observation I can make on the previous review is that we do not appear to have been reading the same book.
The tales are satisfyingly sinister and built on a framework of historical fact. Its delivered with humour and panache and whether ghost hunter or local historian, you will love it !
