Really learn how to master the Mac5
It's all very well installing the latest version of Apple's Mac OS X (Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard) but do you really need to spend as much again on a book all about it?
I'd say 'Yes' because you won't unlock the true potential of the software until you can learn all about the new features and exactly how to use them to your benefit.
This book is over 800 pages long but you won't read it cover to cover while sitting on a sunlounger by the hotel pool in Thailand. It's a great book to dip into. Keep it by your Mac and walk through the clear explanations of how to use the best new Snow Leopard features.
And if you really need to justify the price (nice discount here on Amazon) then imagine your Mac freezes up or crashes and refuses to get better. This book should have the answers to most problems and save you a trip to the Apple Store, hours in online forums and pounds in expert repairs. Or imagine wrestling with setting up a wireless network, configuring printers, etc. Like to have help on hand?
It's not just about Snow Leopard, there are some great Mac web browsing tips, music and video, and even working with Windows (shudder...).
Plus, it's written by the editor-in-chief of Macworld magazine and a former editor of the US edition - so you couldn't be in better hands.

Great book5
This Bible is a 'godsend' - very useful and helpful for the latest great OS X from Apple.
