Customer Reviews

An oldie but goodie.5
In line with the trend for ressurecting childrens classics from yesteryear, I bought this for my shoe queen 2 year old. She loves other classics too like Bod, Bagpuss, Ivor, Mr Benn.

Its clearly made in yesteryear, but the stories and characters are fun, and the catchy tune just as remembered. 'Sh sh sh shoe people, dum da dum de da de dum.....'

A nice alternative to all things modern!

What a gem!!5
I was so thrilled to find that this had been released on DVD, and that it was the complete collection for just a couple of pounds! It was great watching it the other night - very nostalgic! I had the books as a child and watched these episodes on TV when they were first broadcast and it is wonderful watching them again now with my daughter.

As a child I thought it was fantastic - shoes that had been abandoned or to be thrown away by a local shoe repairer all come together and live in their own world once the door to the shop's store room is closed at night.

A really great DVD with some good extra's - I was reminded how 'The Shoe People' brand was also used at the time for charity purposes to raise money, which I had forgotten about. I still think they are fabulous and timeless. They don't make them like this anymore!!

My kids are loving it!5
I bought this as a curiosity, I didn't remember much about it apart from the theme tune, but the reviews were good, and it was nice and cheap (which I think is only fair for programs that were on tv more than 10 years ago!!)

I've put it on for my 7 year old and 4 year old - my eldest should know better but they have both been sucked in and are really enjoying it!! Very gentle and pleasant, this is not Ben 10, but the story is quite fun, and the characters are very lovable.

Great for younger kids - a bit of a break from CBeebies!!
