Cool, but SHORT
Ott has a beautiful style and pulls off the story-told-without-words technique beautifully, where so many others have crashed and burnt. He captures expressions of shock, horror and malevolence with remarakable panache and his stories are a pleasure (albeit a dark one) to read. Unfortunately, the book takes all of 15 minutes to read (20 if you really linger over the illustrations)and you're left feeling that, although you enjoyed the experience, you probably could have gotten a bit more entertainment for your money if you'd shopped around. Be that as it may, I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend Ott's work to anyone with a slightly morbid sensiblity and an appreciation for striking artwork, whether or not you have much experience with the graphic novel medium.
