Product Description

Gino D'Acampo is passionate about Italian food. He is equally passionate about how to cook, but also believes that you don't need hundreds of ingredients and complicated haute cuisine techniques to achieve fantastic food. His maxim is minimum effort, maximum food, and if you cook the 100 recipes in his book, following his tips, NOT breaking his 10 rules - such as not mixing onion and garlic - and joining in his enthusiasm and humour, you will soon learn how to make great Italian food. This is a cookbook filled with modern Italian food, infused with Gino's style and encompassing the myriad influences that have pervaded the country's cuisine.

Fantastico!5
This is a great cook book. Not only do you have the wonderful cheekiness of Gino but the recipes are tasty, not too difficult and unlike some, you can buy all the ingredients at your local supermarket or high street. What I love is that Gino isn't afraid to cook things with cheese & cream - a good thing to see after all those healthy eating books to hit the shelves recently! There are also healhier options but it's nice to be given the choice. The veggie section is also really good. I'm not a vegetarian but I will definately be trying some of the recipes out as they look delicious. Buy it - it's fantastico!!

Italian flair5
As one of Gino's fellow countrymen I am always a bit cagey about books on Italian cuisine, but this is an excellent book with some imaginative recipes which should really give you a flavour of Italian cooking at its best. The ingredients are easy to source and quick to put together. His tips are extremely useful too. What a pity Gino doesn't have his own restaurant!

Very good italien food5
This is my first ever review on a book as I am simply not a good writer but for this book I have to.
There are so so many books on my shelves, certainly from my home country Austria but Gino's Fantastico has a special place as it gets so many time used.

The dishes are very easy to do, mounthwatering, creativ and realy delicious. I love 'Figs and soft Cheese Rolled in Pharma Ham' or 'Baked Aubergines with Spinach and Pecorino' and my 6 year old son loves 'Crispy fillet of Salmon with Cherry tomato and Anchovy Sauce'.
All ingredients are easy to shop for and the list is short for one dish.

I do love Gino's comments to every recipy and I even read them because they are very funny and entertaining.
Certainly getting his second book which I just discovered. Its out since Oct 08 and I did not know about it!!!
