Product Description

One of the biggest, hottest cookery books to be published this year -- recipes from the most groundbreaking Indian restaurant in the world, famously situated in the ultra-glamorous surroundings of the Old Westminster Library. Famous for its unique, award-winning blend of Western and European influences, it has become one of the top half-dozen destination restaurants in the capital. Iqbal Wahhab and Vivek Singh have taken their dazzling recipes and adapted them for the domestic kitchen. All of the Cinnamon Club's signature dishes are here, within sections that cover all the elements of the Cinnamon Club experience, together with a seminal essay on matching wine with spice. The Cinnnamon Club Cookbook is a celebration of the possibility of the new and a testament to the passion and vision of two exceptional culinary talents.

Editorial Reviews

GQ
'Inspirational and easy to follow, you'll never look at Rogan Josh the same way again.'

Esquire
'More than 130 recipes from the restaurant that revolutionised the way we think about Indian food.'

About the Author
Iqbal Wahhab was a distinguished food journalist and restaurant publicist who famously edited Tandoori Magazine and claimed that most Indian restaurant staff were 'miserable gits'. Perhaps not surprisingly, he was sacked from his editorial post and so he decided to put his (and other people's) money where his mouth was and set about creating the greatest Indian restaurant in the world using the stunning talents of India's leading young chef, Vivek Singh. The rest is the stuff of restaurant legend.

The spirit and style of the Cinnamon Club at home5
This book finally brings the unique spirit and style of the Cinnamon Club to your home. Iqbal and Vivek have clearly redefined Indian food to a superior level. While the dishes are exotic, they are also straightforward to create, providing everyone with oustanding results.

A Great Primer5
It's a clearly laid out book: with one recipe per page, so there is none of that irritating flicking back and forth. The recipes themselves are very good and instructions are clear. The pictures are not only mouthwatering they illustrate presentation the home cook could actually achieve. Sometimes Indian cookbooks can be a bit daunting for novices because you're not sure how to put a whole meal together, but this one treats each dish as a separate entity, more or less in the Western manner. It is also nice to see wine recommendations. This excellent book has inspired me to cook more Indian food.

Never hurry a curry!5
At last a proper Indian cookbook. Easy to follow recipes for authentic indian dishes. Superb photography and lots of tips on wine and spice makes this a must have for any serious amateur chef!
