NIGELLA LAWSON'S LIVING KITCHEN
Nigella Lawson is one of the UK's most popular food writers and broadcasters. Her range of kitchenware items, designed in collaboration with Sebastian Conran of Conran & Partners, was launched in 2002. Her day to day experience in the kitchen led to her desire to improve the tools of her trade; the result is an original, practical and stylish range of kitchen items ideal for today's home cook. Paying close attention to form, materials and colour, the Living Kitchen collection is of a high production and design standard. Traditional materials such as ceramic and wood are used in a contemporary and imaginative way, improving the function of the products. Delightful to use and a pleasure to display in the kitchen; as Nigella herself writes:- "Everything has to be utterly reliable, but there needs to be a pleasure beyond the functional. For me, pieces of kitchen equipment are like toys for grown ups: getting them has to feel like a treat." Fro

A bit too big!
I have had this colander for a few months. I love its look but now find it a bit too big. In the end I purchased the smaller one and use it much more often, as I am mostly cooking for 1-2 people. It would be good if you are cooking lots of food at once, for 3+ people, or making several days' worth of food.
The base of the colander is not a separate rim piece, but rather the colander is a single piece of moulded metal. Thus there isn't much of a rim on the base, only a slight depression so that the bottom centre of the colander is not flat on the sink. So if there is any dirty water in the sink, it could easily bounce back and touch the food in the colander.
