Synopsis
This has been the publisher's bestselling title for nearly ten years: two volumes illustrating the uniforms, insignia, equipment, weaponry and vehicles of the British soldiers who invaded Europe in 1944 and progressed from Normandy to the Baltic Sea after the D-Day landings. Presented in the popular big-format style which has made previous books from this publisher best-sellers in the militaria market, these new volumes present unique information in a series of full colour and archive photographs. Coverage in Part One includes: Headgear; Uniforms; Badges and Insignia; Parachute clothing and equipment; Web equipment; Anti-gas equipment; Medals and ribbons; Field rations; Individual armament; and Optics, map reading and signals. This re-issue is originally published in Sept 1998, ISBN 2-908182-44-0. Volume Two (covering organisation, armaments and vehicles) is still available - ISBN 2-908182-74-2.
