While this has it's charms, a collective sigh can be heard after Ducktor Who wins time after time and we wonder if - out there somewhere - there's more to water related sports. Those clever chaps at the delightfully (and somewhat accurately) named Mayhem must have heard our pleas, and have responded with something that looks like it's right out of the boat chase scene at the beginning of The World is Not Enough. Introducing the stealth boat. To merely call this a remote control power boat is doing it a disservice. And it packs a powerful punch behind it's super sleek looks - it's capable of speeds up 30kph from twin propellers. And it doesn't stop there - it's ultra manouvreable round corners, just like a real power boat, and can keep going for up to half an hour from a single charge . The built in safety motor will cut off if not immersed in water, so you needn't worry about ploughing into your dog/cat/newborn baby brother.

Stealth speedboat
A cracking RC boat for under £40 - twin outboard engine derive power from the Nickel Cadmium battery. At full usage, you'll get about 25-30 minutes usage off a full charge (the slow charger means a full charge takes 5 hours). However, the speed you can supposedly get up to is around 30kph and watching it, it really does fly across the water. As with any props, avoid matter in the water or they will get tangled meaning you'll limp the boat back to shore to repair it with one engine working. Range is approx 60 metres but I wasn't willing to push it further than that or I'd have not got it back!

The downsides are slow recharge time and only 25-30 mins usage. There's no analogue rc speeds so it's either full pelt forwards or stop as well as the turning. Instructions are very limited and if you do buy one, the clear plastic 'straw' to extend the antenna is hidden well so make sure you find it!

All in all this is a great product and a safe bit of kit. I liked it and so did my girlfriend which came as a bit of a shock to be honest!

This boat is fast!
Having recently won a series of races on the River Itchen against 3 other boats (of varying designs), I can confirm that this boat is fast. The other 3 competitors in the race plan to buy this model now! It would be great to have longer to use it before the battery needs recharging but this is really the only downside of this excellent craft. It appears to be durable.

Cheap and fast
This boat is fast and great fun, easy to control although as stated above no incrementle speed control, its just full pelt or stop.Battery life is a bit of a let down but Ive ordered 2 - 3800mAh batteries for more boating time.Partner managed to crash it into the stone wall of the pool and although she was only going slow (hand was of the throttle) the nose of the boat completely shattered, Ive since rebuilt it and now it looks even better as it's now got a very pointy nose (must take care not to spear the ducks). All in all, highly recommended.
