ROYAL BED BOUNCER
This is a classic album of the 70's.Each song flows to the next,it is difficult to chose the best as they are all of a high standard.A must for all fans of Dutch prog rock
Moments Of Joy revisited...
If there ever was a perfect Kayak album I'd have to say it is for me "Royal Bed Bouncer". Everything just fits perfectly into place. Songs are all high calibre, arrangements/music tight and brilliantly executed and the "proggy rocky" side is pitched just at the right level. This mix results in an album that I feel still sounds fresh today, which is pretty impressive when you consider it was made over 30 years ago!
I love Max Werner's voice, and with this digital transfer it sounds better than ever. Also there are many parts in the mix that this process has made clearer allowing the listener to become more involved in the music.
The disc has a selection of bonus tracks my favourite being "Mountain Too Rough", and there's a nice pull out booklet featuring a forward from Ton Scherpenzeel and some photos of the band from the 1970's which I hadn't seen before. The CD features all original artwork except the inner sleeve photos and lyrics which were originally on the vinyl.
I purchased my copy from Amazon 18 months ago and I noticed that it's a wee bit pricier now (they're sold out) so hopefully they will do another run soon but even so, Kayak gold is worth every penny, or should I say euro:)
