Positive & Negative Aspects4
The positive aspects of this game are the Campaign Missions that you undertake. I genuinely enjoyed this part of the game. See Ms Beattie's review about details of these. I particularly like the Unicorns and Stegosaurus' that you can unlock!

The negative side however, is that the Campaigns do not take long to complete. It took me less than a week. I did try building my own zoo in the `free play mode' after completing the campaigns but to be honest I found that I got bored with this easily and have not played the game since.

However, I would say that it is worth buying the game just for the Campaign aspect - you could always trade the game in at a shop like Game for something else if you think it is a waste of money buying something that does not take long to complete.

Nothing special3
My 6yo daughter got this game as a treat - she wasn't very impressed. Fairly repetitive for a 6 year old. It may be better for an older child.

The graphics are not particularly special.

The campaign games are fab!5
I read some reviews of Zoo Tycoon 2 before buying it and it got slated. But i remember playing the origional zoo tycoon for ds and loved it so i thought i would give this new one a go anyway.
For anyone who likes games where you can create your own theme park/zoo from scratch and manage it as your own, or animal lovers, or lovers of the origional zoo tycoon game, this game is definately for you! Im totally obsessed with it!
The best part of the game for me is the campaign game style. this consists of 5 missions, each split down into 3 sections. in each section, the player has to construct certain things in their zoo... such as breeding animals that are endangered, or putting 4 different types of felines on display. this may sound boring to some people, but the way you have to go about doing this is clever, as you cannot purchase certain items until your zoo is good enough in star rating.
and there isnt just the campaign gameplay mode that is fun and exciting, there is also the chance to play as the 'zoo keeper' where you get to participate in 5 different mini games that allow you to become up close and personal with your animals in your zoo. you have to feed them, clean them, clean the cages, heal them when they are ill, and pet them. all much fun! not to mention you have to place each animal in its correct environment and aim to get the animals in their enclousure up to 80% happiness or more.
There are unlockables throughout the game too... such as unicorns, sabre tooth tigers and the tricerotops dinosaur!
and if all this isnt enough, you can construct a dolphin enclousure and create dolphin shows for the public!
There is also a free play mode where you can choose where you want to construct your own zoo, and you can choose how many stars to start with (ratings 1=hard 7=easy) and also choose how much money you want to begin with.

Overall, i might be 20 years old but im still obsessed with this game! If it appeals to you buy it. make up your own mind.
