Railway lovers will be eternally grateful to world class toy manufacturers Tomy for bringing us the Tomy Tomica World Stream Train set. The set, which by day lives in a durable plastic tub, by night becomes a circular train set.

Aimed at being the start of a beautiful friendship, the set contains the basics--a battery-powered (batteries not included) steam train, a passenger carriage and even a cattle carriage. If that wasn't enough, the set also contains a tree and signal sign.

The set of course can be added too and the realms of possibilities are endless with the chance to add more rail options like city stations, a tunnel, bridges, as well as more trains and road options like junction boxes to boot.

Although a simple set, this is a great start to any collection and should offer hours of entertainment to any budding train lover--Frances Barber

Excellent value "training" set
This set is actually really good fun--it seems really basic, but when I set my two kids loose on it (aged 3 and a bit), they really loved it. The simplicity makes it easy for them to use, and it doesn't require a great amount of understanding of complex systems. There's a bit of the goldfish effect going on as well, as they will sit and watch it going round for hours...I recommend this, until kids have developed the dexterity to actually build a complex system themselves.
