Editorial Reviews

CD Description
DJ Skully is the DJ's DJ. A permanent fixture on the club and festival circuit, a pioneer whose main concern is challenging the model and pushing the boundaries, striving for legendary status. Klashnekoff was last years underground success story, talk of the town he ticked all the boxes. Hot single, hot video on constant rotation and radio airwave domination, all of which resulted in the sale of over 15,000 CDs independently. The buzz was loud, loud enough for the labels to hear and the meetings were had and the offers were made. Since then a few pretenders to the underground Kings thrown have been seen warming the seat. The buzz is now a result of the fans and industries questions, is he signed, where's the album, was he really that good. These questions have been answered. See Focus Mode. The mix tape before the album was an underground artist s way of plugging a gap, using available resources and promoting forthcoming material. It's now a major label, credibility building marketing tool. However every so often something comes along that makes you forget what went before, something that everything that proceeds it is compared too. Focus Mode is that something. Its what happens when old friends reconnect, its what happens when two of the best have a creative meeting of the minds. This is more than beat juggling scratch showmanship, its an insight. Epic in scope, immediate in perspective and frightfully intimate, the album is finished, but first we give you Focus Mode.

Customer Reviews

Fully Focussed5
To sum it up, this man is PURE QUALITY. This album mixed by DJ Skully shows off Klashnekoff's continuous talent. There was no doubts as to whether to buy this or not, I knew it would be first class judging from his previous album: "The Sagas of...". The best thing about it is he doesn't loose sight in terms of lyrical content whereas certain rappers do and revert to talking about money, hoes and clothes jus cause they think thats all that sells. This is proof that with thoughtfully chosen beats which compliment Klashnekoff's style, he stays fully focussed by keeping the lyrics deep and meaningful.

All the tracks are on point and my stand out tracks are "Black Rose (Revisited)" over Bobby Valentino's "Tell Me"; the remix of "Son of Niya" featuring Sizzla; "No Escape"; "Smack Down" - which has a 50 Cent/G-Unit sound to it and "Revolution". "Mr. K-lash" and "Raw Tings" are over tunes "Criminology" and "Glacier's of Ice" by Wu's Raekwon, while Klashnekoff flows get a little faster on: "Let it go (remix)" and "Jamrock Takeover" (Damien Marley's track, as we already know)...EY, DON'T WASTE NO MORE TIME - GO GET IT. But wait patiently for Mr K-Lash's next installment to UK hip hop.

Lyricly an absolute genuis, forget US rap5
As the title says forget US rap, its not like I dont like US hiphop, but when you hear Klashnekoff (part of Terrafirma) you realise that not only has the UK caught up with the US but lyricly we are way ahead, the first tune I heard with klashnekoff was a freestyle with Kyza, then I downloaded a tune featuring Kano, I was absolutly amazed, so I bought this album and it was absolutly outstanding!
If you like flowing quick and highly intelligent lyrics over deep, dark and bangin' beats then this is for you, support UK hiphop and buy it you will NOT be dissapointed!!!!

Why is this guy bigger than Jesus?5
It depresses me that the charts are full of limp R'n'B and brainless, blinging US rap when the UK can produce and album like this. Just buy it.
