Customer Reviews
Anglicized Welshmen
I am not the best person to review this CD as I am Welsh, and I am sorry to say that commercial practices have caused the choir to sing with a universal sound which is simply not as effective as their music for home consumption. I have heard the Brecon Male Voice Choir, by no means as famous, sing and felt the hairs rise on the back of my neck: this does not happen here.
I agree, being Welsh it just isn't right
I don't like the idea that the hair doesn't stand up on the back of my neck and arms from the shear glory of the sound of the Welsh here. I would much prefer (as I am sure anyone wanting to hear the famous voice of the Welsh in song)the true way the songs were meant to be. This doesn't even represent the voices I heard on the way to the mines of the miners themselves, now that was a wonderful thing to hear and to witness in the morn. The heart and love of home is whats missing. There are much better to chose from.
