Amazon.co.uk Review
When it comes to taking on logic-defying challenges, Queen have never fought shy: think Hyde Park, Latin America, Live. Here’s the case in point: just weeks ahead of the start of the band’s 2008 Queen + Paul Rodgers' The Cosmos Rocks tour the band were approached to help Ukraine’s AntiAids Foundation reach out to the youth of the country with the message 'Don’t Let Aids Ruin Your Life'. Despite the difficulties involved, Queen + Paul Rodgers made it to Freedom Square for the night of September 12, 2008. Over 350,000 Ukrainians came to see them play and more than 10million homes watched the show live on television. In all, more than 20 million took part in what the band recall as "an unforgettable experience... one of those rare things in life you know you will never forget. A meeting in Music, but also a coming together to fight a common enemy..."

Customer Reviews

A Great Concert from a great collaboration5
This is a really exciting concert from the two remaining members of Queen and their old mate Paul Rodgers (plus the excellent backing band of Jamie Moses, Spike Edney and Danny Miranda). I recently saw the footage from when the whole Queen and Paul Rodgers thing started - it was a performance for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and it was televised in 2004 - you can see it on you tube - it's absolutely electrifying, in fact one of the best rock performances I have ever seen -It was obvious to all of them that they should continue the chemistry that existed. They did, and this is what came from it at a real peak. The musicianship of the whole band has matured into something extraordinary - the songs seem to have more 'feel' and subtlety in their execution than ever before. Paul's singing is first class. Sure.. it's not Queen (how could it be? Derrr!)..and there were some nay sayers when Paul Rodgers began to sing with them - but for flip's sake! .. it's a classic rock revival of unparalleled quality. Queen and Paul Rodgers was a sublime coming together of brilliant musicians playing some of the best rock music EVER..so I say YESS!! I'm so glad that we have this DVD and a (surprisingly good) studio album to remember this great musical chapter in all of their careers. I think for Paul Rodgers it was a job really well done, and for Brian May and Roger Taylor a chance to ply their craft to those huge stadium sized audiences (maybe) one last time...and why not. It ROCKS.

A TRAVESTY!!!!!1
Let's make one thing very clear. This isn't Queen in any shape or form.It should actually be called Smile + Paul Rodgers (Smile was the group Brian May & Roger Taylor were in before Queen, of which they were two of the 3 members. Here we only have two members of Queen, so do the math).Thank god John Deacon had the respect for Queen's legacy and for the late great Freddie Mercury and did not join in this total sham.Paul Rodgers has neither the talent nor the right to try and step into Freddie's shoes and in particular, to try to sing the songs that were written so close to the singer's death, that are very personal to all TRUE Queen fans.
Brian and Roger should stop diminishing Queen's proud legacy and take up gardening as it will do less damage.

Ukraine concert registration4
Nice registration of a big concert if you like the new Queen band.
Paul can never replace Freddie, but it is not bad either.
The band still knows how to entertain a crowd.
