Customer Reviews

Witty, insightful and accurate - the perfect companion!5
The Footprint guide to Brazil was our bible during our recent visit - an absolutely brilliant source of information on everything from the best places to see wildlife to the hottest bars in Rio. Great reviews of everything from hotels to tour-operators were honest and useful, detailing the good - and the bad, when necessary. (It can be really hard to make an informed choice when you're out there!) Loved the info on local music, the fabulous photos, and all the great tips on festivals etc. The author clearly spent an enormous amount of time researching this book, and his love for the country, its people and culture is evident on every page. This book never let us down, and we'll certainly be choosing Footprint guides in the future.

Brazilian Handbook4
Once the original (miss-bound) copy had been replaced (promptly and with no hesitation by Amazon)this book proved most useful during my trip to Brazil and only served to make me wish I could have stayed longer to explore some of the other amazing places included in the book.

My only gripe is that there is very little coverage on the Pantanal - but this is a minor point in what is otherwise a reliable travel guide.

Quality Stuff5
Used in Bahia, Rio and Sao Paulo. Lots of discoveries through this guide. Especially great for music and nights out. Some choice places off the beaten trail and for a splurge meal. Nice to have a guide that feels like it has been written by a person for a change as well.
