It has everything!5
After comparing this with lots of other guides (by the usual suspects) I found it to be by far the best up-to-date guide. It has everything you need for planning a visit to Berlin - useful maps, recommended sites, general tips, language tips and an excellent history section at the end for those who prefer to know a little more about a place/city. My only quibble is the size - I would have preferred something smaller for a short visit.

The best out there, but needs updating4
I spent a good deal of time comparing the various guidebooks to Berlin, and the Rough Guide emerged as easily the best available. Extensive, well-written background information, comprehensive sightseeing listings and an invaluble tube map. The restaurant recommendations were spot on (and extensive, too), and many of the suggested activities and excursions take you beyond the standard tourist circuit. The street maps were less impressive, though excellent maps at tube and S-Bahn stations meant this wasn't too big a problem. My main quibble, however, is that some of the listings are out of date - a good four or five recommended shops no longer exist or have changed entirely in nature, and it was frustrating to repeatedly come up against this. A great guide, but hopefully a new edition's in the pipeline.

Excellent Guide5
Planning first visit to Berlin later this year and this book tells you all you need to know.

Would highly recommend it plus the map that you can buy with it is a must too!
