Reduced in content?5
We found that articles that had appeared in earlier editions of the 'Rough Guide to Germany' were missing in this most recent one. Duderstadt, for example, described as a hidden gem was not included. Anyone hoping to get an update of a previously owned edition would be advised to check in a paper copy whether the region they intend visiting is covered in the detail they anticipate. Otherwise, a fine book (albeit with some strange use of English in places - but then, I'm hardly a teenager...).

Excellent guide5
The Rough Guide to Germany I needed a good travel guide to review the German Christmas market cities. I use many of the Rough Guides and this one on Germany follows the easy-to-read and informative pattern of others in the series. Maps are clear and recommendations are honest and straightforward. The new colour ".. things not to miss" section at the front of the newer editions are always interesting and I try to see as many of them as time will allow. I always take a RG book with me on holiday because I know I can trust what they say.

Rough Guide to Germany3
This Rough Guide is disappointing and doesn't give as good information and coverage as the other Rough Guides I have used. Maybe is is trying to cover too large a country in one go.
