not the best guide to Dublin
I bought this book as it was the amazon best seller guide for Dublin.
We [4 blokes on a mid-life crisis long weekend] visited Dublin Easter 2007, and found the guide to be of little use, it seems to be a diary (but without dates) of the author's time spent in Dublin. They have attempted to provide a guide to visiting Dublin, but if you want to find information quickly this is not the book for you (for instance Leopardstown racetrack there are two entries in the book, but only one is indexed, the other we stumbled upon looking for something else.)
One of my companions had the eyewitness Dublin guide, we found that was better presented and easier to find information quickly, I recommend you look at that for comparison before making your buying decision.
A 'must-buy' if you're heading to Dublin
This book is excellent for a brief guide to attractions in dublin. If it wasn't for this book, I'd never have discovered the excellent pubs and restaurants that I visited in Dublin.
Comprehensive as usual
We found the LP guide to Dublin to be as accurate and informative as all the others we've used.
Information is presented in a very easy to follow format. Recommendations are to be relied upon. We tried a Lebanese restaurant in the book and had a truly delicious meal. We booked a lodge on LP recommendation and it was exactly as described in the book. We did a walking tour in the book and it was brilliant.
I don't think I could actually do a sightseeing holiday now without LP as a companion. I'd feel lost without one.
