Product Description

Christian Dior rocketed to fame with his first collection in 1947 when the 'New Look' took the world by storm. This charming and modest autobiography gives a fascinating and detailed insight into the workings of a great fashion house, while revealing the private man behind the high-profile establishment. It is also a unique portrait of the classic Paris haute couture of the 1950s and offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes. Dior details his childhood in Granville, the family and friends closest to him, his most difficult years and sudden success, as well as his sources of inspiration and creative processes.

Vera Rule, The Guardian, 2007
'Monsieur Dior's descriptions of the craft, personnel and performances of couture at its grandest are proper reporting from the front line of fashion ... Dior tells wicked anecdotes in his sly owl way'

A Fantastic read !5
I bought this book because i am interested in the fashion industry and i was doing some research for one of my uni essays. this book being written by Christian dior himself provides the reader with an inside look into his world. It provides details of how dior initially started his career in fashion and charts the growth of the house of Dior. I would seriously recomend this book to any Fashion students but also to any business students looking for research on leadership and also anybody just looking for an interesting book. this is a book that i would quiet happily read again.
