Product Description

"Wallpaper City Guides" not only suggest where to stay, eat, and drink, but what the tourist passionate about design might want to see, whether he/she has a week or 24 hours in the city. Featured are up and coming areas, landmark buildings in an 'Architour', design centres, and the best shops to buy items unique to that city. "Wallpaper City Guides" present travellers with a fast-track ticket to the chosen location. The edited guides offer the best, most exciting, and the most beautiful of that particular city. As well as looking beautiful, the guides are expertly designed with function as a priority, and have tabbed sections so that the tourist can easily find what they are looking for. There are maps, rate and currency cards, colour-coded parts of the city, and an easy navigational tool. They are the ultimate combination of form and function.

Customer Reviews

Woefully out of date1
Wallpaper Guide: you think it will show you some cool bars to go to. I bought it a week before a trip to NY and hoped to visit the cool bars referred to in the book. A frustrating cab journey and 3 closed bars later the book went in the bin (4 of the 6 we tried were no longer in business).

Would be a great little guide if it were up to date. As it stands, poor.

Paper guides always go out of date5
I used to be a slave to Time Out city guides but got frustrated after a trip to Prague where several places in my brand new guide were out of business. I have since found out that the writing, subbing, publishing, distribution turnarounds on these sorts of books takes months. If you want the latest information you need to use the internet which can be updated more easily. The Wallpaper* City Guides are great value and easy to carry around, they don't scream "MUG ME I'M A TOURIST!" due to their discreet size. The recommendations are always about aesthetically gorgeous places, so if like me this is what floats your boat, then I recommend these publications. Plus, they look great lined up on your bookshelf.
