Customer Reviews

A must for any visit to Madrid5
Every hour spent pouring over this guide before you go, is worth half a day when you are there! We found brilliant cafes, wonderful tapas bars, and the best bottle of sherry in Madrid all on the first day, not to mention the best fried lambs intestines in the world, but that is definately another story. Use the Metro (the map is in the book) and get yourself about. The guide told us when the museums were free and when to hit what streets for the best shops and bars. Easy pocket size guide, it paid for itself withing 48 hours.

Ok - but not great for restaurant reviews2
This book was ok - but sometimes we found everything was listed with no recommendations for what to see if you have only a short period of time to see them in. Also, we only tried one of the recommended restaurants from this book and because it turned out not to be very good we didn't try anymore!

We found the Spanish phrases at the back of the book were inadequate with many standard and necessary phrases missing (e.g. Is there a luggage room in this hotel?), and it didn't have great coverage of food items, which makes menu-interpretation difficult.
