Mind Blowingly good if you know of someone or have a thaigirlfriend
This bok really helped me as I read it with my new Thai girlfriend whilst in Thailand. Because it is in Thai on the right of each double page and English on the other you can read it together and discuss each issue together. Issues like the dowry and love came up...always a big issue. As well as meeting the parents...although my expereince was a much more laid back affair than the book suggests. I do wonder if it gave me slight paranoia before going into things...but I will say that if we had any problems we could go straight to the book and it resloved things straight away.

I have since let my parents read it too and any misconceptions or stereotypes have been demystified so far....a MUST if you have links with Thailand and new to it.

this is by far the best thai book i have ever read,if i could have had this book when my thai girl friend asked me to send money for her family i would have understood her a lot better and she would have understood my reaction to her request,i urge any one serious about thai weston relations to read this with his/her partner one page thai same page english, great (6 stars )

Best Guide to Thai Western Relations
I am English and know many Thai people. Western and Thai views of the world are very different and can lead to significant confusion in daily dealings let alone close relationships. Of all the books I have seen on Thai/Western culture conflicts - this is the best.
