Overcomplicated and mostly fried foods - very disappointing
I was very excited when this book came out as there are not that many "finger food" books out there. Yes for someone who claims to be a children's "healthy food" guru, there sure are a lot of recipes for fried foods (fried fish, fried mozzarella, french fries, chicken fingers). Additionally if you are looking to make finger foods, you are most likely looking for simple ideas - who has time to make mini-burgers, mini-pizzas and mini-cupcakes with kids? Finally, the book is divided into meal types (breakfast, dessert, meat, veggies etc...) which is not helpful in terms of knowing what you can offer your baby at what age stage. Very disappointing, you'd be better off just following your own favorite recipe books but making things in smaller, more baby-friendly sizes.
So disappointing
I have other books by Annabel Karmel that I find good and was really looking forward to some new ideas for finger foods. However, almost every recipe contains sugar and salt! Considering it is not recommended to add these to babies foods I found this very strange and unhelpful. On the positive side, there were a few recipes I found I could adapt but if I had seen the books before buying it, I would definitely have given it a miss.
Dissapointing
I agree with the previous reviewer, really basic book, not inventive and surprisingly unhealthy. I've had Maizels' "Finger Food for Babies and Toddlers" for years. It's much more comprehensive. This book is not as personal and feels slightly rushed. Shame as I normally find Karmel useful.
