The best Guide to British Butterflies I've found - yet!
This book is really wonderful for its coverage of British Butterflies. Each species has at least a page to itself covering Food Plants, Larvae, Male/Female identification - everything neccessary to identify a btterfly.

Coverage of the more common species of Moths and other insects is also very good, but you'll soon need another book to identify the more unusual, or arbitarily left out, species.

This book's strong point is its coverage of butterflies. Here it is supreme, with beautiful illustrations of all stages of a butterfly's life-cycle.
