Excellent introduction to politics
I'm not a political animal but I found this book interesting and informative - it answered a lot of questions and explained things in a reader-friendly way. Ideal for the politically ignorant (like me) who feel they ought to join in the Highbrow Conversations going on around them!

A lively overview of a dry topic
I found this book useful as I am preparing to go to university to study politics soon and needed an introduction to UK public policy and administration.

This book provided me with a good introduction to the topic and was written in a lively and insightful manner. I would recommend to anyone either studying or working in public administration.

My only criticisms is that the narrative style, while ensuring that a dry topic kept the reader's interest, was not necessarily appropriate in some parts. Also, the book is a little partisan in parts - I assume the author is a Labour Party member or supporter! However, these are minor points and do not detract from the book as a whole.

Overall, I found it to be accessible and crammed full of useful info.
