Customer Reviews
An Excellent Introduction
This book is richly illustrated with full color photography and copious drawing that supplement the text. Not knowing too much about the history of the pyramids I found the text to be pitched at just the right level, neither to erudite or superficial. It would serve as a good introduction to the subject. Pictures can speak more loudly than words and the reliance on illustrations to supplement the text is a real winner. A chronology of ancient Egypt is provided, where it should be, right at the beginning of the book. The book cover has two folds that can also serve as book markers. A good index, vital for this kind of survey, is also provided. The quality of the books paper renders the color photography bright and vivid. Recommended.
